Public Health from the 1940s to Today: Protecting America’s Health
In 1946 the Communicable Disease Center (CDC), now known as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, opened its doors in Atlanta with a mission of preventing malaria spread across the nation. Throughout the decades since, the CDC has addressed critical public health challenges. This presentation will discuss the public health threats and challenges over the years that informed our responses today.
