Provide financial support for student research and professional development!
Each year, Delta Omega selects 29 outstanding public health students from CEPH-accredited schools and programs with active Delta Omega chapters to present their research at the American Public Health Association (APHA) annual meeting. Attended by over 10,000 public health professionals, this prestigious event includes a poster session and an awards reception where students receive an honorarium. Unfortunately, the $500 honorarium from the Delta Omega national office only covers APHA registration and membership fees, leaving students responsible for additional travel expenses like airfare and lodging. This financial barrier may discourage students without access to extra support from submitting abstracts for consideration. As part of our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ), we are establishing a student travel support fund to ensure all selected students can fully participate in this incredible opportunity.
